ROSENBERG (June 14, 2010):    Work will begin the week of June 14, 2010, on Phase II of the Bamore Road Widening Project.  Gonzalez Construction of Rosenberg will be the City’s contractor on the project which will include widening and drainage improvements from Bernard Avenue to just north of Southgate Drive.  When completed, Phase II of the project will consist of a widened, three-lane concrete roadway with curb and gutter.  Bamore will have a designated center turn lane and concrete sidewalks down the east side of the road.  The section of roadway directly in front of Bowie Elementary will have sidewalks along both sides.  Intersections that will be reconstructed as part of the project include Elizabeth Avenue, Grunwald Heights Boulevard, Wilburn Street, Brooks Avenue, Reinhard Street, Magnolia Drive and Southgate Drive.

Property owners will have access to their properties; however, through-traffic will be limited during the construction period.  Drivers are advised to exercise caution in this area, to plan their travel accordingly, and to use established detour routes.  The City will begin work on the section of Bamore near Bowie Elementary so that it may be reopened to through-traffic for the start of next school year.  The Bamore Road Phase II Road Widening Project is expected to be complete by spring 2011.
