ROSENBERG (April 21, 2010): The City will hold its annual Spring Clean-Up Day Saturday, May 1, at Sunset and Brazos Parks from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Citizens are encouraged to bring their unwanted items for disposal. Staff and volunteers will be on hand at both parks to accept items from Rosenberg residents. Individuals will need to provide proof of residency by bringing their City utility bill with them and will be restricted to one load at each park per household.
Items that cannot be accepted at the Clean-up include tires, batteries, gas tanks, wet paint, oil, chemicals, fertilizer, hazardous materials, appliances with Freon, or televisions. Many of these items, however, can be dropped off at the Fort Bend County Recycling Center located at 1200 Blume Road.
The County center accepts certain types of household hazardous waste, as well as paper, plastic, metal and glass for recycling. Additionally, they accept automotive oil, rechargeable batteries, and printer and ink cartridges. Appliances, televisions, tires and paint are accepted, for a small fee. The Center will be open to collect household hazardous waste Saturday, May 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and recyclables until 4:00 p.m. Regular hours for the center are: recyclables - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and household hazardous waste - Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the first Saturday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
